In Could, Swedish singer-songwriter Seinabo Sey returned along with her first album in 5 years, THE ONE AFTER ME. Now, the artist has teamed up with COLORSxStudios, the German music efficiency platform, for a new short film primarily based on the document.
“It’s an excellent honor to have collaborated with COLORS on this piece,” Sey shares, “To have these footage and tales accompany and in some ways full this album is a dream come true. The chapters completely illuminate the most important lesson that I discovered making this music, it’s a narrative about accountability, forgiveness and love. Making this can be a reminiscence that I’ll cherish perpetually.”
Reflecting on the collaboration, Felix Glasmeyer, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of COLORSxStudios, shared, “We labored with Seinabo when she first appeared on A COLORS SHOW in 2019. Since then, we’ve been so impressed by her journey as an artist, and have been excited to work along with her on this movie to assist her dive deeper into the narratives and imagery her music conjures.”
The brief movie is a visually stunning, experimental tackle the 14-track album, with primarily instrumentals taking part in throughout scenes that includes Sey herself alongside a solid of actors. Lyrics make appearances: at one level, she sings a snippet of the observe “BEFORE” acapella in a marriage costume. At one other, the tune “DREAM” performs whereas an actor takes a wistful automobile experience.
